Shattering your iPad screen? That is so not a good thing. Just ask Martha Stewart.
The domestic diva took to Twitter this week to lament about breaking her iPad, which was apparently a personal gift from Steve Jobs, and ended up pissing off Apple corporate in the process. The drama started on Wednesday when Martha’s iPad tragically fell out of a car and cracked. Amidst her tweets about fall gardening, TV and radio appearances, and “to die for” corn fritters, the lifestyle mogul bemoaned to her more than 2.8 million followers:
I just dropped my iPad on the ground and shattered two glass corners. What to do?does one call Apple to come and pick it up or do I take it?

A day later, Apple had taken no action to come to pick up and repair the busted iPad, apparently frustrating the lifestyle tycoon.
I am still waiting for an apple rep to come pick up my IPad. No action yey

Never one to hold her tongue, Martha then offered up some friendly business advice to the Cupertino tech giant.
Maybe I have had a good entrepreneurial idea? Apple Now? Like same day delivery from Amazon? I think I am on to something. Same day fixit!!!

Later, she backtracked on her previous tweets, suggesting that her apparent frustration was all in jest.
So is it time to put out the fires and admit I was just pissed off at the fact my precious ipad shattered and I wanted to make light of it??

But despite her claim that it was all a little joke, Apple PR was apparently not amused.
i cannot believe that Apple Public Relations is mad at me for tweeting about my Ipad and how to get it fixed! steve jobs gave it to me!

With the situation reaching a fever pitch, Martha on Thursday promised to stay quiet about the problem and deal with it outside of social media.
i wish i could explain everything here on twitter about the broken IPad, the stolen IPhone, the silly joke about repairs and my frustration!
— Martha Stewart (@MarthaStewart) September 27, 2013(Opens in a new window)
but it is impossible so i will deal with it all silently and hope that apple will fix everything so i can function again with proper tools

But despite her promise to stay silent about the issue, Martha again took to Twitter Friday morning to provide an update about her broken iPad, and put in a request for more durable technologies.
Let’s now talk turkey: Ipads addictive, awesome, expensive. Glass should /could be unbreakable. That the iPad works with cracked corners-great

Apple did not respond to a request for comment about Martha’s tweets. In her defense, shattering your iPad screen would be a personal tragedy for anyone. Plus, getting a device serviced isn’t exactly the most convenient thing in the world. Take it from this woman.
