For $3,999, buyers can nab a Mac Pro with a 3.5GHz 6-core Intel Xeon E5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz, dual AMD FirePro D500 GPUs with 3GB of VRAM each, 16GB of memory, and 256GB of PCIe-based flash storage.

The device will be available to order starting Dec. 19 on Apple’s website(Opens in a new window) and in stores. Cupertino did not reveal when it will actually ship to consumers. (Update: The Apple website says it will ship in February.)
The new Mac Pro is one-eighth the size of its predecessor, coming in at 9.9 inches tall. It includes six Thunderbolt 2 ports, each with up to 20Gbps of bandwidth per device, and supports up to 36 high-performance peripherals, including 4K displays.
Rumblings about a new Mac Pro started last year when Tim Cook promised an updated machine in 2013. Cupertino provided a sneak peek at the new Mac Pro at its Worldwide Developer Conference in June and served up more details at its October iPad event.
Last month, as part of a (RED) charity auction, a red Mac Pro sold for $977,000.
