Amazon Discounts Kindle Fire HD, HDX Tablets

Mother’s Day isn’t until May 11, but you might want to get your shopping done early this year if you’re thinking of surprising mom with a new Kindle Fire tablet.

Amazon is currently running a limited-time promotion on its Kindle Fire tablets, selling them today for as low as $119. For that price you can get the 8GB 7-inch Fire HD(Opens in a new window), which normally sells for $20 more, or $139. If you need more storage, the 16GB Fire HD is now on sale for $129, a $40 discount off its normal $169 price tag.

Amazon also cut $30 off the prices of its more expensive 7-inch Fire HDX(Opens in a new window) tablets, which offer a better display and battery life, faster processor, and Mayday tech support. The 7-inch 16GB Fire HDX is now selling for $199, while the 32GB model is going for $239, and the 64GB variant is $279.

If you’re looking to go big, you can get even steeper discounts on the 8.9-inch Fire HDX(Opens in a new window) tablets, which are all now $40 cheaper. That brings the 16GB model down to $339, the 32GB version to $389, and the 64GB tablet to $439.

There’s no word as to how long the deal will be available, but Amazon notes it’s a limited-time offer, so it will probably end soon. These types of deals typically don’t last for more than a few days, so if you’re in the market for a new Kindle Fire for yourself or as a gift, you better act fast.
