Looking to upgrade your old tablet to a Surface Pro 3? You’re probably going to want to check out Best Buy.
The electronics retailer has launched a new promotion(Opens in a new window) offering customers a minimum of $200 to those who trade in a working tablet, to be used towards the purchase of a Surface Pro 3.
Here’s how it works: Trade in any working tablet between now and Saturday, and you’ll get a Best Buy gift card worth at least $50, plus a $150 coupon good toward the purchase of a new Surface Pro 3. Trade-in value will, of course, vary based on the device you’re handing over, and its condition. You can head over to Best Buy’s website to check your estimated trade-in value(Opens in a new window), but the deal is only available in stores.
In the fine print, Best Buy says that your device must be able to power on to be considered working. Water-damaged devices with cracked screens will not be accepted. The deal also excludes e-readers.
Excluding any discounts, the Surface Pro 3 ranges in price from $799.99 for the entry-level 64GB Intel Core i3 model up to $1,949.99 for the 512GB Intel i7 version.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time the Surface Pro 3 has seen a discount. In February, Microsoft temporarily knocked $100 off four of the five Surface Pro 3 models.
If the Surface Pro 3 is too expensive for you, Microsoft recently introduced the new Surface 3 ($688.00 at Amazon)(Opens in a new window), which runs Intel Atom processors and lack the Surface Pen that comes with the Pro version. But the Surface 3 starts at $499 and runs a full version of Windows 8.1. For more, check out our comparison of the two tablets in the video below.
