This deal puts a lot of the best 4K monitors in a tight spot. The 48-inch OLED panel on the Gigabyte FO48U provides a 120Hz refresh rate to make for extra-smooth gaming. It’s rare to find a 4K display going faster than 120Hz, though not unheard of. But even where some 4K monitors will go up to 144Hz and even 240Hz soon, the near-instant pixel response time of OLED can still result in a picture that feels like it moves more smoothly.
For the money, the Gigabyte FO48U brings a lot of screen space that delivers extensive and accurate color, packs in stereo 15W speakers as well as a 20W sub, plus support for FreeSync Premium for use with gaming PCs and consoles. Though it’s the size of a TV, it has some features not usually found on one, like USB ports with a KVM switch and a DisplayPort connection.

While very few OLED displays will come below $1,000, with the exception of the occasional discount on lower-end LG A1(Opens in a new window) models and the Vizio OLED, the Gigabyte Aorus FO48U has dropped below $1,000 more than once. The last time we saw it this cheap was back in Februrary, but then it required a discount code and a $200 mail-in rebate. This time around, the discount is available without any hurdles.
