Good news, Facebook Paper users. If you read an article worth sharing, you’ll now be able to more easily pass it along to friends and family through the app for Apple’s iPhone.
The social network on Tuesday updated its mobile news reader app with new options to share articles via Facebook messages, text message, or email. Previously, you could only share posts with your Facebook friends.
“We’re listening to your feedback and working to add features you’ve requested,” Facebook said in the update release notes.
Besides that, version 1.0.2 brings support for more languages. You can now create stories in languages that use multi-stage input, including Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Sadly, Facebook Paper is still only available in the U.S., but the new language support could be an indication that the app is gearing up for an international debut.
Finally, the latest version of the app includes a mute feature that lets you turn off sound effects and browse in silence, as well as other reliability enhancements.
“Experience other improvements that make Paper even more reliable and—hopefully—that much more fun to use!” the social network said.
The updated app is available for download in the Apple’s App Store(Opens in a new window).
Launched early last month, Facebook Paper is a mobile reader that combines updates from family and friends with worldwide news. News junkies can make the app their own by adding stories and themed sections based on personal interests. The first section, of course, is the Facebook News Feed, which highlights photos, videos, and longer posts in a new layout. From there, users can customize Paper with any of a dozen-plus sections—photography, sports, food, science, design, etc.
