If you own the Beats Pill XL speaker, Apple on Wednesday issued a voluntary recall for the device after discovering it could pose a fire risk.

Though the recall is voluntary, Apple urged people to stop using the Beats Pill XL speaker immediately. Owners can visit a site(Opens in a new window) Apple has set up for details about how to return it and receive an Apple Store credit or refund of $325.

In a statement(Opens in a new window), the Cupertino tech giant said it “has determined that, in rare cases, the battery in the Beats Pill XL may overheat and pose a fire safety risk.” The recall does not affect any other Beats or Apple products.

The Beats Pill XL, priced at $299.95, was first introduced in November 2013 — about six months before Apple agreed to acquire Beats in 2014.

If you’re unsure whether your Beats speaker is the Pill XL, there’s an easy way to check. The device has a Beats “b” logo on the speaker grille and the words “beats pill XL” on the handle. It comes in five colors: black, metallic sky (a grayish blue), pink, titanium, and white.

The Beats Pill XL received an “excellent” rating in PCMag’s review last year, earning high marks for its “thumping, powerful Bluetooth audio” and portable design. But given this newly announced fire hazard, using it just isn’t worth the risk.
