LAS VEGAS—Boutique PC builder Digital Storm’s newest innovation, Project Spark, takes high-end power and premium design and packs it inside a small case.

I checked out Project Spark here in Las Vegas this week, and came away impressed with the size. It stands at just 12 by 4 by 6 inches (HWD), but the custom work and power of the components inside make it even more of a head-turner. The system is built on a new Micro STX platform, and you can configure up to an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 and an Intel Core-i7 8700K processor.

There’s also custom liquid cooling piping inside, not something you usually see in such a small chassis. The look is classy overall, with customizable lighting accenting the window. You can add plenty of storage as well, with room for up to three M.2 drives and a SATA 6Gb/s port.

Project Spark starts at $1,299 with a GTX 1060, and can be upgraded from there when ordering. It will launch in Q2 of this year.

I also saw Digital Storm’s other offerings, which were quite a bit larger. The monolith-class Aventum X, in particular, is an enormous powerhouse with more fans and cooling radiators than you can find, while the Velox is a mid-size, more refined build. These are all highly configurable, but it makes the most sense to outfit these big, glass cases into the pricey enthusiast-level.

Digital Storm also showed off its work in progress, the Modena, which is in a more unique case. It includes less glass, and has a window for the SSD array, as well as an antena on the top back of the case for some flair.
