HP today introduced its holiday desktop, laptop, and tablet PC lineup, but the standout was the new HP Envy 8 Note, a tablet with an innovative keyboard folio accessory.
The HP Envy 8 Note(Opens in a new window) is an 8-inch tablet with a full HD 1,920-by-1,200-resolution screen. True to its diminutive size, it is only 7.7mm thick and weighs 0.8 pounds (about 13 ounces). The tablet is powered by an Intel Atom x5-Z8300 processor with Intel HD Graphics, so it’s ready for 1080p HD video viewing from Netflix or any other streaming video service.
But it’s not all play, because you can buy the 10-inch HP Envy Note Keyboard Folio as a package with the tablet. It features a full-sized keyboard, one-piece clickpad, and a slot on its surface to hold the Envy 8 Note in landscape or portrait mode. The keys have a full 1.5mm of travel like HP’s premium notebooks, and the keyboard deck is made of aluminum. The combo is comfortable enough for generating reports while you’re on the move, and the tablet slots into a recess on the back of the Keyboard Folio, so they can travel together.
The Envy 8 Note comes with a 4G LTE module standard, with several Verizon LTE plans available right out of the box. The HP Envy 8 Note is expected on Nov. 8 via HP’s website and selected retailers. The tablet and stylus alone will go for $329, while a tablet, stylus, and keyboard folio bundle is $429.
Other Windows 10 devices on offer include the HP Envy Curved All-in-One desktop, which is built into a Technicolor Certified ultra-widescreen display. Its 34-inch screen is immersive and features Intel RealSense for Windows Hello logins and other motion-control capabilities. The HP Envy Curved will start at $1,799.99 and will also be available on Nov. 8.
If you want a smooth gaming experience, but don’t want to shell out for esoteric case materials and extravagant lighting effects, HP’s 15.6-inch Pavilion Gaming laptop brings affordability to it gaming lineup without skimping on performance, thanks to Intel Core i5 or i7 processors and Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M graphics. The Pavilion Gaming laptop starts at $899.99 and arrives Nov. 8.
