Google and Adobe are bringing Photoshop to your Chromebook.

The companies on Monday announced plans to launch Adobe Creative Cloud on Google’s Chromebooks with a streaming version of Photoshop; other products are “coming soon.” Currently in beta, the offering will first be available exclusively to North American-based Adobe Education customers with a paid Creative Cloud membership.

“The Photoshop you know and love is now on Chrome OS,” Google Product Manager Stephen Konig wrote in a post(Opens in a new window) on the Chrome blog. “No muss, no fuss.”

The streaming version of Photoshop is designed to run directly from the cloud on your Chromebook. It will always stay up to date and be fully integrated with Google Drive, so you won’t need to go through the trouble of downloading and re-uploading files.

“Just save your art directly from Photoshop to the cloud,” Konig wrote.

Google promised it would be easy for IT administrators to manage, with no long client installation and one-click deployment. Users will also gain access to Adobe Education Exchange learning content and an in-app learning panel called “Learn Now.”

If you’re interested in applying, head over to Adobe’s website(Opens in a new window) to read up on the eligibility requirements and application process.

The new streaming version of Photoshop comes after Adobe last week introduced the consumer-friendly Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 and Adobe Premiere Elements 13, which offer much of the professional versions’ power, in a less complicated package. The apps are priced at $149.99 for the pair, or individually for $99.99.
