Sony’s announcements at CES are modest, but not to be ignored. Sony’s VAIO ultrabooks are gaining touch screens and a slick new look, and a new member is joining the family, the Sony VAIO T15 ultrabook.

The newest addition to the Sony VAIO lineup is the Sony VAIO T15, a 15-inch, touch-enabled ultrabook. Like other members of the VAIO ultrabook line, the VAIO T15 features lightweight aluminum and magnesium construction, and boasts the latest third-generation Intel Core processors. Additionally, the display offers more than 10-finger capacitive touch support—the 15-inch display also offers 1,920-by-1,080 resolution, making it perfect for enjoying videos and graphics in full 1080p HD. The Sony VAIO T15 will be available this spring, starting at $950 through Sony and other retailers.

Existing VAIO products are also getting a few new features. The Sony VAIO T14 ultrabook, a 14-inch ultrabook launch late last year, is now available with an optional touch screen, providing capacitive touch and 10-finger tracking in a slim and light ultrabook. Like the VAIO T15 mentioned above and the VAIO T13  we tested last October, the VAIO T14 features aluminum and magnesium construction. The touch-enabled version of the VAIO T14 will be available this spring for $800.

If you’re looking for something beyond the standard clamshell design, Sony is also updating it’s 11-inch hybrid ultrabook, the VAIO Duo 11. With the same 1080p resolution, support for both touch and stylus, and sliding convertible design that shifts from ultrabook to tablet, the VAIO Duo 11 will also be available this spring in metallic silver, as opposed to the dark gray and black seen on the original model.
