Calling all butterfingers: Logitech today introduced the Logi Blok family(Opens in a new window) of heavy-duty iPad cases.

Choose from the protective shell, case, or keyboard case—each with cushioned square corners designed to defend against falls of up to six feet, onto surfaces as hard as concrete.

The first products launched under the new Logi label, the Blok lineup(Opens in a new window) promises extra-absorbent polymers hidden in the corners, which support and flex with your iPad upon impact.

“The iPad is a powerful device. But people have dropped and damaged—or are afraid that they will drop and damage—the iPad, so they typically don’t use it to its full potential,” Michele Hermann, vice president of mobility at Logitech.

For $39.99, iPad Air 2 and all iPad mini owners can guard their tablet and its screen against cracks and scratches with the Logi Blok Protective Shell. The $69.99 Protective Case, meanwhile, gives iPad Air 2 users the same drop protection, with the added perk of an any-angle stand (adjustable within a 50-degree range). Both accessories will be available in black, red/violet, and teal/blue.

“Until now, protecting your iPad from drops meant covering it with a bulky case that took away from the beauty and mobility of the iPad,” Hermann said. “Our designers worked with material experts to protect the most sensitive parts of the iPad without adding the bulk you associate with ultra-protective cases.”

Serious tablet users (or serious klutzes) may opt for the protective keyboard case, which offers the protective shell, any-angle stand, and detachable keyboard, which serves as a screen cover when closed. Apple iPad Air 2 owners can soon pick up the Logi Blok keyboard case in black or teal/blue for $129.99.

All three Logi Blok accessories are expected to launch in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, and select European countries in August.

“With the Logi Blok family of cases you no longer have to choose between protecting your iPad and having a beautiful case that allows you to enjoy all the functionality it has to offer,” Hermann said.
