If you’ve had your eye on Sony’s new super-slim, water-resistant Xperia Tablet Z, then we have some good news for you.

The flagship Sony tablet is now up for pre-order(Opens in a new window) in the U.S. The 16GB model is available in black only and will set you back $499.99, while the 32GB model comes in black and white for $599.99. Pre-orders are expected to ship on May 24.

Those who pre-order a 32GB Xperia Tablet Z in white between now and May 24 will receive a free charging cradle, which normally sells for $44.99.

First unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February, the Xperia Tablet Z is a 10.1-inch Android tablet, which Sony claims is the world’s thinnest at only 0.27 inches. It weighs in at just 1.1 pounds, making it significantly lighter than the 1.44-pound Apple iPad. For those prone to accidents, the Xperia Tablet Z is water resistant in up to 3 feet of water for 30 minutes at a time.

As for other specs, the Xperia Tablet Z sports a full HD 1,920-by-1,200 display and is powered by Qualcomm’s quad-core 1.5-GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro with 2GB of RAM. It features a rear-facing, 8-megapixel camera with Sony’s Exmor R sensor, and a front-facing, 2-megapixel camera for HD video chats.

The Tablet Z will launch with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and Sony promised an upgrade to 4.2 after launch. The 16GB and 32GB configurations feature a microSD card slot for extra storage.
