Topping tech headlines, on Tuesday, YouTube announced that it will finally revamp its comments section so that “comments will soon become conversations that matter to you.”
“In the coming months, comments from people you care about will rise up where you can see them, while new tools will help video creators moderate conversations for welcome and unwelcome voices,” YouTube said in a blog post. That includes tying in Google+.
Meanwhile on the mobile front, the rollout of BlackBerry Messenger for iOS and Android will be delayed until at least next week after a fake version of BBM for Android overwhelmed the Canadian phone maker’s network. BBM for iOS and Android was scheduled to launch over the weekend, but before they had a chance to launch, an unreleased, older version of the BBM for Android was posted on file-sharing sites. It will take at least a week to block that version and release the correct apps, BlackBerry said.
In other news, an eager Apple fan shelled out $10,100 on eBay for a 16GB, gold iPhone 5s that normally would retail for $549. That came the same day that Apple announced a refresh to its iMac lineup, which added Intel’s new Haswell processors, next-gen Wi-Fi, and more.
