The wait is almost over for gamers eager to start playing the newest Call of Duty. The next game in the series, Call of Duty: Ghosts, lands Tuesday, Nov. 5.

In the U.S., retailers like GameStop(Opens in a new window) and Best Buy(Opens in a new window) will be hosting midnight launch events around the country. Microsoft is hosting a launch party(Opens in a new window) at its retail stores from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. local time.

But events are planned around the globe. Those in Australia and New Zealand(Opens in a new window) already have their copies of the game, while game developer Infinity Ward has been tweeting(Opens in a new window) photos and updates from launches in the U.K., Berlin, Sao Paulo, France, and more.

For those who don’t want to brave the crowds, Call of Duty: Ghosts has been available for pre-order(Opens in a new window) for some time for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3, the PC, and Wii U through Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, Toys R Us, and Walmart. Prices vary from $59.99 for the Standard Edition to $119.99 for the Hardened Edition and $199.99 for the Prestige option.

The game also includes a new Call of Duty app that “adds a new dimension to Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer by allowing fans to stay connected to the game on the go, and offers new features like the all-new Call of Duty Clan Wars metagame, to create an even greater experience,” Activision said.

The app is free and will be available tomorrow(Opens in a new window) for Android, iOS, Windows Phone, and Windows 8.

Over the weekend, a live-action trailer for the game starring actress Megan Fox was released. The spot, dubbed “Epic Night Out,” was directed by Walk the Line director James Mangold, and features a group of friends battling their way through a bombed-out Las Vegas, set to the tune of Frank Sinatra’s “I’m Gonna Live ‘Til I Die.” They encounter Fox on a roof, who saves them from incoming fire. Activision announced the next installment in its Call of Duty franchise back in May. In August, gamers got a first look at the game’s multi-player action, and just last week, Activision confirmed a new alien-focused game mode, dubbed Extinction.
