Topping tech headlines on Wednesday were photos of the new Google Glass hardware. The gadget remains mostly the same, but includes the addition of a single, mono earbud.

The refresh may also support “an upcoming line of shades and prescription frames,” according to reports. But all the improvements in the world won’t help Glass Explorers outrun the law. A San Diego commuter, initially pulled over for speeding, was recently ticketed for “Driving with Monitor visible to Driver (Google Glass).”

In other news, PC maker Lenovo on Tuesday announced a new collaboration with Ashton Kutcher, naming the actor an official product engineer working on a new Yoga Tablet line. According to Lenovo, Kutcher will be deeply integrated into the organization, helping to “break new ground by challenging assumptions, bringing new perspective and contributing his technical expertise.” For more, see PCMag’s Hands On With the Lenovo Yoga Tablet.

Meanwhile, following months of complaints from Dell Latitude 6430u owners who said their laptops smell like cat pee, the company revealed this week that the smell “is not at all related to cat urine or any biological contaminate.” Since June, users have been griping about the “truly awful” scent emanating from their Latitude keyboards — an issue Dell said it has resolved.
