What are some of the perks of being a GameStop manager? How about brand new next-gen gaming consoles?

At launch, GameStop managers will receive a free PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, according to the retail chain, which confirmed the announcement in an email to PCMag. The company declined to say if it is purchasing the consoles or if Sony and Microsoft are providing them.

The PS4 managers’ bundle will come with seven disc and digital games, including Killzone: Shadowfall, NBA 2K14, Madden, FIFA 14, Need for Speed: Rivals, and Battlefield 4, according to Joystiq(Opens in a new window). The final title — Beyond: Two Souls — is a PlayStation 3-only game, with no PS4 ($799.95 at Amazon)(Opens in a new window) version expected.

There is no word yet whether Microsoft’s Xbox One ($200.00 at eBay)(Opens in a new window) will come with any games.

The retail chain unveiled the good news to general managers during today’s GameStop Expo in Las Vegas. At the show, GameStop also said it would start selling a blue, 250GB PS3 for $250, starting Oct. 8.

It’s probably too late to run out and get a job as a GameStop manager, so those consumers who aren’t close friends with a store GM will have to wait in line like everyone else in November, when both consoles hit shelves. Sony is slated to launch its $399 next-gen PlayStation in North America on Nov. 15; Microsoft has not announced an official date for its $499 Xbox One.

GameStop workers aren’t the only ones getting free gaming swag, though. Microsoft is reportedly gifting its employees with a free, white-and-silver version of its next-gen Xbox console, complete with an “I Made This” note etched onto the front. The freebie comes with a white controller, black Kinect sensor, one year of Xbox Live, and more goodies for full-time workers still at Redmond on Xbox One launch day.
