Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 companion app, iFruit, finally hit(Opens in a new window) the Windows Phone Store on Tuesday.

The free application runs alongside the console game, providing users with news, additional features, and more reasons to postpone human social interaction.

Windows Phone users can now create in-game vehicles from anywhere, whether you’re waiting in line at the bank or spending some quality time in the loo. Players can also create and reserve personalized license plates for GTA 5 and GTA Online.

And when you simply want a break from stealing cars, beating prostitutes, and robbing banks, pick up the mobile app to tend to a virtual pet, Chop the Dog. iFruit for Windows Phone lets users pet, feed, and water him, as well as play fetch or tug-of-war, and teach him tricks. But beware of the Rottweiler: too much or too little activity will upset him.

“Take Chop on walks to give him a chance to work off last night’s steak and Piswasser and to mark his turf in the hood — defending the ladies, fending off gang members and even protecting the beach babes of Los Santos from unsightly tan lines by removing their bikinis,” the store’s product description said.

Successful dog-sitting will be reflected in the game: Chop will be more helpful and responsive to Franklin, he will perform tricks if properly trained through the app, he will sniff out the nearest hidden items, and enough earned credits can be exchanged for new collars for Chop.

The free companion app is available now for download(Opens in a new window). Like the game, it is rated “M” for Mature.

Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5 sold almost 29 million units in the first month, helping publisher Take-Two to generate $1.27 billion in revenue for the fiscal quarter.

The companion app hit Apple’s iTunes Store a day ahead of the global GTA 5 launch; an Android version(Opens in a new window) was released a month later.
