Topping tech headlines Monday, Samsung unveiled a new lineup of 4K HDTVs, but the Korean manufacturer’s CES press conference was interrupted by a rather bizarre presentation from director Michael Bay, who bolted from the stage following a teleprompter malfunction.

In a post to his website later that day, Bay said he was embarrassed, and quipped that “live shows aren’t my thing.” Still, he sang the praises of Samsung’s Curved 105-inch UHD TV.

Also at CES, Samsung launched its flagship Galaxy NotePRO tablet, and PCMag went hands on.

In other news, Sony unveiled the Xperia Z1s smartphone (pictured). It has a 20.7-megapixel camera with creative filters built into the camera app, and we got some hands-on time with the device for T-Mobile. Sony also unveiled some non-curved 4K HDTVs, as well as the FDR-AX100 4K camcorder.

Meanwhile, Garmin unveiled several new devices at CES 2014, including a fitness band, new standalone portable navigation devices, and a refreshed version of its heads-up display for automotive use.
