Topping tech headlines on Tuesday, Motorola’s Moto G smartphone arrived in the U.S. — more than a month ahead of schedule.

The 4.5-inch 720p phone comes in an 8GB GSM version for $179 off-contract, with no SIM lock and an unlockable bootloader. The 16GB model is $199. Pre-order online now; shipping will begin on Dec. 2. A CDMA Moto G will be available in the U.S. via wireless carriers next month.

In other news, an online questionnaire in Georgia’s DeKalb County gave potential jurors the option to list “slave” as their occupation. Officials removed the term shortly after being alerted to it, according to local TV news station WXIA.

Meanwhile, Google Maps on Monday launched an interactive map featuring a glimpse inside 16 international airports, more than 50 train and subway stations, and even a Hong Kong cable car station. Still in its infancy, the program is rather limited — only parts of the U.S., U.K., Spain, Italy, and Japan are represented, among a handful of rail stations, airports, and museums/points of interest scattered across the globe.
