North American Nintendo 3DS owners can now download the refreshed StreetPass Mii Plaza application(Opens in a new window), with touch-screen controls, a new layout, and four new games for purchase.

The update also includes new expressions and greeting options for StreetPass Mii characters, along with new panels for Puzzle Swap.

An Internet connection is required for the update, which allows the console to collect and share Mii information even while in Sleep Mode. Visit the StreetPass Mii Plaza later, and you’ll find new Miis to use in games like Find Mii and Puzzle Swap.

The new StreetPass also comes with four new games, available for $4.99 each, or as a bundle for the discounted price of $14.99.

• Mii Force: A scrolling space shooter that uses StreetPass Mii characters for special power-ups to defeat enemies and save the galaxy.
• Flower Town: A gardening game in which you win and collect flowers to cross-breed and expand your garden.
• Warrior’s Way: A strategy game in which players collect Mii characters to fight with, or against, other warlords.
• Monster Manor: An investigation through a ghost-riddles multi-level mansion using pieces collected from Mii characters to unlock new levels.

By earning various accomplishments in the games, players earn tickets that can be redeemed in the redesigned StreetPass Mii Plaza. There, you will find new outfits and hats, including a full-body Luigi costume, Yoshi’s Egg hat, a Super Mushroom hat, and a Super Star hat. The selection changes every day, though old hats are still available via Find Mii.

Already available(Opens in a new window) in Japan and Europe for a few weeks, the 3DS software update is now downloadable for stateside players.
