Microsoft’s Xim photo-sharing service(Opens in a new window) is coming to a big screen near you.

Tap the in-app display icon(Opens in a new window), and select a linked Xbox One, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, or Amazon Fire TV to display your pictures.

Just as you would when sharing a Xim with another mobile user, both screens—your phone and TV—will swipe, pan, and zoom simultaneously. Add friends and family to the slideshow, or update it with more photos.

Redmond launched the Xim app in October, allowing people to share photos without handing over their phone.

Only one person needs Xim (for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone) for everyone to participate. Just collect images from your mobile camera roll or favorite service—OneDrive, Dropbox, Facebook, Instagram—to show family and friends, who can pan and zoom at their leisure.

Other Ximers can add their own pictures to the slideshow, and exchange messages with all participants. And, because the photos expire “after a little while,” there is no phone storage to worry about.

“What’s especially cool is that someone can call you on your mobile phone while you’re at home, initiate a Xim session, have you pair your device with the streaming media player in your house and, using their mobile phone, control the images appearing on your big screen,” Microsoft’s David Chen wrote in a blog post(Opens in a new window).

“This ability to share pictures synchronously between mobile phones and living rooms opens the door to some pretty intriguing possibilities,” he added.
