The new features are coming to Skype thick and fast of late, with another just announced in the form of easy screen sharing from mobile device during calls.

Yesterday, Microsoft announced(Opens in a new window) that the latest Insider build of Skype includes the ability to share the screen of either an Android or iOS device. Sharing is as easy as tapping … and then selecting “Share Screen” which will take you through the process of allowing that display to be seen by everyone else on the call. And remember, that now means up to 50 people.

Microsoft views this new feature as being extremely useful for sharing content. For example, you could load up a PowerPoint presentation, share the screen, and swipe through the slides while you talk about the content. On a more casual front, Microsoft offers examples where a screen is shared to do “online shopping with your bestie” or to “share your swipes of dating apps.”

If you’d like to try the new screen sharing feature, you need to be part of Microsoft’s Skype Insider beta program. Thankfully, Microsoft made joining a very simple process which involves visiting the Skype Insider Program website(Opens in a new window) and downloading the Preview build.
