Xiaomi unveiled some new devices on Tuesday in anticipation of the busy holiday shopping season.
Chief among the announcements(Opens in a new window) was the company’s new Redmi Note 3, a new phablet featuring a full metal design, along with a 4,000mAh battery. The China-based company says that the smartphone comes with the Helio X10 processor, has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, and offers a fingerprint sensor on the back for security.
Xiaomi says that the device will be available for RMB 899 (about $141) to start, but only in China.
Xiaomi is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world, and has built a name for itself by offering high-end devices at relatively low prices. The strategy has helped Xiaomi build a loyal fanbase that has been likened to Apple, and some have called Xiaomi the “Apple of China,” though that’s sometimes because its devices very closely resemble Cupertino’s gadgets.

According to Windows Central(Opens in a new window), the Mi Pad 2 can run Windows 10 or Android.
To finish things off, Xiaomi bulked up its smart home lineup with the Mi Air Purifier 2. The device is shorter and smaller than the previous iteration and 11 percent quieter. Like its smartphone and tablet, Xiaomi’s new air purifier will initially only be available in China, and will sell for RMB 699.
