Sure, a good night’s sleep can be replaced with caffeine, yoga, and cat naps. But it’s frowned upon. Instead, you could spring for a Balluga bed.

The “first truly smart bed” manages your sleep experience in real-time, adjusting firmness, support, and temperature throughout the night. Chock-full of technology, the mattress can be personalized to fit you and your partner’s needs; control individual settings via a mobile app or touch-screen remote.

Balluga is currently raising money on Kickstarter(Opens in a new window); it has about $16,000 or its $50,000 goal.

Pledge $25 to $250 for a T-shirt, night gown and cap, or Balluga Club membership. An actual mattress(Opens in a new window), however, will require deeper pockets.

For folks sleeping alone every night, the single or small double mattress should do the trick, available on Kickstarter for $1,199 or $1,499, respectively. If you need something bigger, the medium double costs $1,699, large double $1,899, and California King $1,995.

But that’s just the mattress (which features firmness control, vibrating massage, and an anti-snoring system). You can splurge for Balluga’s bed frame, with external movement sensor and built-in LED lighting for night-time illumination.

Mattress and bed combinations cost anywhere from $1,999 to $3,299; a customized version comes in at a whopping $5,000.

Don’t be so quick to scoff at these early-bird prices, though: Balluga’s values are on par with what you’ll find when shopping for an adjustable Sleep Number mattress or high-end Serta bed.

“We started Balluga because we wanted everyone to be able to have a good night’s sleep every night,” the company wrote in a campaign update(Opens in a new window). “With your help we hope that we will be able to make our dreams and your dreams come true.”
