Topping tech headlines over the weekend, Google launched a search removal request form following a recent European Union ruling.
The online application allows residents of the EU’s 28 member states to petition for certain links to be removed from the search engine’s results. Still in the early stages, the form requires details include the applicant’s home country, full name, email address, and list of URLs to be removed. Users will also need a valid form of photo ID.
In other news, Hewlett-Packard unveiled the new Tegra-run HP SlateBook 14 Android laptop (pictured), available next month for $399. The laptop features a 14-inch touch-screen display, as well as a more conventional trackpad, and packs 64GB and a microSIM slot for added storage. Plus, 2GB of RAM and an Nvidia Tegra 4 processor allows for 4K video streaming, as well as more than nine hours of battery life.
Meanwhile, Google reportedly plans to unveil a new Android TV platform at this month’s I/O conference. Different from Google TV, the Android system will utilize a new “card-based interface” to access content, which will be showcased instead of hidden behind apps. There is no word on which hardware manufacturers have signed up for Android TV.
