This week, the tech crowd headed to San Francisco for Google’s annual I/O developer conference. As expected, we got a glimpse of the next version of Android, currently codenamed Android M, and got to try out Android Pay and an updated version of Google Cardboard.

The event is largely for Android developers to find out what they’ll be working with over the next year. Thursday’s keynote was the big draw for the tech press, but breakout sessions that afternoon and yesterday provided them with deep dives about how to make their apps shine.

But what’s it like to be at I/O? PCMag’s Max Eddy was roaming the halls, snapping photos of the colorful scenery, new gadgets, and the occasional oddity. Check out the slideshow for some of the sites that took over Moscone this week.

(For more about the announcements, meanwhile, check out Google I/O 2015: Everything You Need to Know.)
