UPDATE: As expected, Apple today revealed iOS 8 and Mac OS X Yosemite.
Original story:
It’s that time again. Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) kicks off today with a keynote that’s expected to reveal details about the next versions of iOS and Mac OS X.
The event begins at 1 p.m. ET, and Apple will live-stream(Opens in a new window) the keynote. According to the Apple website, you’ll need Safari 4 or later on OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later, or a second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later.
If you can’t watch, PCMag’s Sascha Segan and Joel Santo Domingo are in San Francisco, and will be live-blogging all the action via @PCMagLive(Opens in a new window) (embedded below).
Though there have been rumors about a hardware reveal at WWDC, Apple usually focuses on software at WWDC. This time around, we’ll probably hear what’s in store for iOS 8, as well as the follow-up to OS X Mavericks. We’ve also heard rumblings about a software platform that will support smart home devices.
Follow along with all the action beginning at 1 p.m. ET. Until then, though, check out our iOS 8 wish list, as well as what we expect from WWDC 2014. Also see the slideshow above with some early shots from Moscone, and our quick video below.
