Ever need to share links to a bunch of different sites with a friend? The process involves manually copying and pasting each link into a message — which might not seem like a lot of work in the grand scheme of things, but there has to be a better way, right?
Well, the folks at Opera have a solution. The browser maker on Wednesday introduced a feature that lets you share links for multiple bookmarked sites with ease. The new bookmark-sharing feature is available now as the default option on the Opera 26 browser for Windows, Mac, and Linux users.
It works like this — When you bookmark a site with the new Opera 26, you’ll be able to select a thumbnail image from the page you’re saving. Your bookmarks are then displayed as a collection of these thumbnails, which can be organized however you like and should help you easily identify the site you want to visit.
From there, simply click the “Share” button, and all thumbnails and links will be displayed on a special page, which you can share via email, social media, or a direct message.
“Browsing the Web today often includes a social side. You want to share anything interesting you read online, you ask your friends for their opinions before you purchase something, or you share inspirations, lists of favorite songs, or other interests,” Zhenis Beisekov, desktop product manager at Opera Software, said in a statement(Opens in a new window). “It’s time for browsers to reflect this new reality and give people an easy way to share multiple links.”
Meanwhile, the new Opera 26 also includes a new built-in print preview feature, and some improvements for Mac and Linux users.
