Fear of Missing Out is a real problem, and now Twitter is doing something about it. No longer do you have to worry about missing something juicy when you see a tweet in another language.

Twitter this week introduced tweet translation with Bing translator, so you can read tweets in multiple languages. The feature is available on Twitter.com, Twitter for iOS and Android, and TweetDeck.

“With tweet translation, you won’t miss any of the action unfolding on Twitter,” the company said in a Help Center(Opens in a new window) note. “You can choose when you want to see a translation for a tweet, and you can also adjust your settings so the option to view tweet translations is disabled.”

To adjust the tweet translation setting, just log into your account on a desktop or laptop computer, go to your account settings and locate the tweet translation section. From there, you can change your tweet translation setting by checking the box next to “Show tweet translations.”

Once you enable the feature, you’ll see a little globe icon located in a tweet written in a different language. When you see the globe, simply tap or click the tweet to expand it and a translation of the text in the tweet will appear below the original.

The feature works with more than 40 different languages. Twitter warned that although Bing Translator uses “advanced translation software,” the results will vary and “often fall below the accuracy and fluency of translations provided by a professional translator.” So, in other words, don’t expect the translations to be completely perfect, but they should give you an idea of what the tweet says.

Earlier this week, meanwhile, Twitter introduced the “While you were away” feature. Whether you’re a faithful tweeter, or check in once a day for the latest from Taylor Swift or Barack Obama, “While you were away” will provide a recap of some of the top messages you missed.
