Lego is honoring the 50th anniversary of the moon landing with a life-sized recreation of the spacesuits worn on the 1969 journey, along with a partnership with Scholastic to send 50 children to NASA space camp in 2020.

The model, which took 300 hours and 30,000 bricks to complete, will be displayed at the National Air and Space Museum’s Apollo 50 Festival(Opens in a new window) on the National Mall from July 18-20.

At 6’3″, it recreates the Apollo 11 suits (down to the brick-rendered reflection of the moon’s stoney surface in the visor). Lego Master Builders will be at museum site to help attendees with another project: a 20-foot model of the SLS rocket.

The recreation isn’t the company’s only Apollo 11 celebration. Lego also released the NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander kit last month. The $99 1,087-piece set depicts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin’s first steps on the Moon and comes with two space-suited figures (sorry, Michael Collins), a tiny American Flag, and the iconic Eagle lunar module.

Lego’s wave of space-based products and events come in conjunction with a company-sponsored Harris Poll, which found that more children aspire to careers as vloggers than astronauts, due in part to a limited understanding of NASA jobs. As such, Lego’s latest push stems from a simple goal—to inspire younger generations to take mankind’s next big leap.
