The set features a neon green glow-in-the-dark race track, a four-lane car launcher, and two exclusive light-up LED Micro Chargers racecars in red, orange, yellow, or green. As the glowing vehicles zoom around the track “at the speed light,” the scene starts to resemble a Tron lightcycle battle more than a typical Hot Wheels race. Of course, the cars and race track work just fine during the day too. Also included are two stat cards for keeping track of how often each racer wins or loses.
The design of the Light Racers Track itself includes racetrack favorites like loops, curves, and straight-aways and is broken up into separate pieces for kids to put together themselves. Once assembled, the product’s dimensions are 11.02 x 2.36 x 19.09 inches. The Micro Chargers Light Racers Track also requires 2 AA batteries and is recommended for children ages 6 to 15.
The Micro Chargers Light Racers Track joins other Micro Chargers racing toys like the Crash Track, Loop Track, Time Track, and Hyper Dome. Kids can also augment their tracks by snapping in additional pieces from track expansion packs, sold separately, as well as grow their garages with racecar and stunt car booster packs, also sold separately. There’s a reason the launcher can hold four cars but the set only comes with two.
